HISTORY OF LONG, COOK & SAMSA, INC.

Long, Cook & Samsa, Inc. began practice on December 1, 2000 with the merger of Gregory A. Long & Associates, CPA's and Cook and Samsa LLP, CPA's.

Gregory A. Long & Associates had its beginning during July, 1983, when Gregory Long and David Wilson started practice at 132 E. Liberty Street as Long & Wilson, CPA's. In October, 1983, David Turpin purchased the Wooster office from Rea & Associates, Inc. and operated as a sole proprietorship until November, 1983, when the two practices merged into Turpin, Long & Wilson, Inc. Their first offices were in the Complex Building located at 231 N. Buckeye Street, Wooster, Ohio.

On April 24, 1987, the Firm of Turpin, Long & Wilson, Inc. moved to its new offices at 505 N. Market Street, Wooster, Ohio, which is a renovated Victorian home. The Firm then employed ten full-time and part-time employees.

During January, 1990, the Firm of Turpin, Long & Wilson, Inc. purchased the accounting practice of Robert M. Johns, CPA.

On August 1, 1990, David Turpin left the Firm to pursue other interests outside of public accounting and the Firm's name was changed to Long & Wilson, Inc.

On November 15, 2000 the firm of Long & Wilson, Inc. decided to split its practice. David Wilson left to pursue his own practice, and Greg Long remained at 505 N. Market, practicing under the name Gregory A. Long & Associates.

Cook and Samsa LLP, CPA's had its beginning in the mid 1980's when Catherine Cook provided bookkeeping, payroll, and tax services from her home. Her husband, John Cook, taught accounting and finance at the College of Wooster and assisted Mrs. Cook and did some outside tax and consulting work for the business. The firm's name was C & J Services. Todd Samsa was one of John Cook's students and worked part time in the business. He graduated in 1987 and began his accounting career with an Akron firm.

The business grew and in 1990 moved from the Cook home to a small office in the Portage Center II office building in Wooster. In 1992 Todd Samsa rejoined the firm full time and the name became Cook and Samsa, Certified Public Accountants. In 1994 John Cook resigned from the College of Wooster to work full time in the business.

Cook and Samsa continued to grow and in late 1999 occupied the entire second floor of the Portage Center II building and employed six full-time people including three CPA's. They remained there until the merger in December 2000.
